La investigación transnacional de las formas organizativas : hacia una integración jerárquica de las perspectivas

Resumen
La investigación transnacional organizacional a nivel macro ha estado dominada por dos perspectivas, la contingente-universitaria, vía la hipótesis de no condicionamiento cultural, y la culturalista, especialmente en su versión ideacionista. En el presente artículo se evalúan ambas perspectivas en términos de sus limitaciones y potencialidades tanto a nivel conceptual y metodológico, como en términos de la investigación empírica y la capacidad explicativa que cada una revela a través de aquella. Se concluye que la perspectiva culturalista se encuentra menos articulada que la hipótesis universalista y que la última, más circunscrita, ha recibido sustancial apoyo empírico. No obstante, la explicación contingente deja aún mucha variabilidad organizativa por ser explicada. Se concluye que las posibilidades de dar cuenta de esa variabilidad remanente descansan no sólo en una mejor articulación de las tesis culturalistas sino en la consideración de perspectivas emergentes que prestan más atención a aspectos de la economía política e historia concreta de las distintas sociedades y que, ofreciendo una mayor visibilidad, permiten una integración de las distintas perspectivas
