Resumen
Este texto analiza los determinantes de la calidad de la educación superior, en la cual la atención se centra en el profesorado. La presencia de un profesorado sobresaliente se considerada como la mejor garantía de una institución sobresaliente, de tal manera que la relación a veces se presenta de forma axiomática: "un profesorado excelente equivale a una institución excelente".
