Cultura emprendedora en la República Dominicana: ¿en un alto nivel?

Resumen
El presente estudio analiza los resultados de la medición de la cultura emprendedora en la República Dominicana, permitiendo identificar aquellos factores que han incidido en su alta calificación frente a otros países del mundo, así como las oportunidades de mejora. La metodología usada fue el análisis de la data original del Monitor Global de Emprendimiento, desarrollado a mediados de 2021 y con resultados disponibles a inicios de 2022. La cultura emprendedora del país logra un nivel elevado desde la arista de la población adulta, puesto que concibe el emprendimiento como una opción de carrera deseable, explicando, en gran parte, la actividad emprendedora de la nación. De manera equivalente, más de la mitad de los expertos consultados opinan que la cultura nacional promueve la creatividad y la innovación, pero también consideran que la transferencia en Investigación y Desarrollo (I+D) y su resultado, la internacionalización, no han sido factores de fomento en los últimos tres años. Por ello, el país cuenta con grandes oportunidades de mejorar su entorno emprendedor, requiriendo una mayor y suficiente inversión en Investigación y Desarrollo que garantice la inclusión de las nuevas empresas con enfoque en tecnología, así como la generación de iniciativas articuladas de los sectores público, educativo e industrial en función de reducir la brecha de desarrollo tecnológico entre las grandes empresas y las PYMEs, garantizando una sostenibilidad de los nuevos negocios.
